Janelle Brose - Farm Director
Janelle Brose has worked hard to become the newest Farm Director of the MFRN. A graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Communications, Janelle has been involved in agriculture since her 4-H days growing up in Monroe County. While at MSU, Janelle was a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association and participated in two different internship programs, the first at Clinton County MSU Extension, and the second with Michigan Farm Radio Network. It was the latter experience where she thrived, discovering her interest in broadcast and her passion for agricultural news. Janelle has shown tremendous ability both on-air and on assignment since beginning at MFRN in February of 2003. She has developed a strong voice and excelled in her position as Assistant Farm Director, being nominated for the National Association of Farm Broadcaster’s Horizon Award in 2003, 2004 and in 2005. Janelle brought home the award for the East Region this past November. The Horizon Award is presented by the National Association of Farm Broadcasters and Syngenta Crop Protection in recognition of outstanding performance and promise in the farm broadcasting industry. Only those NAFB members who have been in the business of farm broadcasting for five years or less are eligible. Janelle looks forward to a long career working in farm radio.
